Josh Wimbley, a Piper High School sprinter, is featured on the April 2006 SCHOOL SPORTS SOUTH FLORIDA Magazine cover. Josh originally started running at 8, and learned his craft through the City of Lauderhill Track Club, run by Ted Beverly (also head track coach at Piper).
His successes in school include his Class 4A state champion in the 400 meters, and he was state runner-up in the 200. All of this while maintaining a straight-A average.
As a senior, he is now looking forward to college, for which he is being heavily recruited. His choices have been narrowed to University of Miami, Florida State University and the University of Texas at El Paso.
