2010 Final Mock Re-Draft

Well two days of drafting have gone by, and it has become clearer on what the Dolphins were doing. Odrick's 1st round selection didn't make much sense until it was announced that DE Randy Stark is moving to NT. That fills the need in the center. So the next most important need was OLB.

At least Bill was listening to me on this one. Though I had Kindle slightly higher, I understand that there were major concerns on his knees. Since the pick was so crucial, going to the next highest pick, Utah's OLB/DE Misi made a lot of sense.

What surprised me was that while I figured the Dolphins would draft someone for the offensive line, I thought they would hold out, and also try to find someone that could play center too. I had pegged in round 6, C Eric Olsen or C Kenny Alfred. Though they are still a possibility, it is now more remote.

So where do the Dolphins go from here. Fortunately, this is one of the deepest drafts ever. There still remains a lot of players that in most years would already have been gone from the board. Free Safety is their biggest concern, and Tight End is still an issue. Some help a CB, a PR/KR, and doubling down at NT is still of interest. Again, rather than predict each round, I would rather do what the Dolphins do, put up a list at those positions and rank them. But at this point, the options are becoming more limited.

Free Safety - 4th or 5th Round

#1 Robert Johnson
#2 Myron Rolle
#3 Darrell Stuckey

and maybe in the 7th round only,

#4 Da'Mon Cromartie-Smith

Tight End - 4th or 5th Round - if they want one of the better receiving ones

#1 Dennis Pitta
#2 Dorin Dickerson
#3 Aaron Hernandez maybe 6th Round only

Nose Tackle

#1 Cam Thomas (would be intriguing, though I don't see him lasting very much longer)
#2 Jeff Owens (strong consideration in the 6th Round)
#3 Jay Ross (needs to bulk back up to be a NT - for the practice squad)
#4 Kade Weston (for the practice squad)

Cornerback

#1 Donovan Warren
#2 Crezdon Butler
#3 Bryan McCann (could also be a KR available in the late rounds)

Wide Receiver - all could be used for the KR

#1 Mardy Gilyard (should be gone in the 4th round)
#2 Jacoby Ford (could be available in the 5th or 6th round)
#3 Jeremy Williams

Outside Linebacker

#1 Ricky Sapp
#2 O'Brien Schofield (7th round only due to injuries)
