Predictions:
Scenario #1 – Based upon no trade, the Dolphins need to take either a Nose Tackle or an Outside Lineman in Round 1. The only player that should be still available at the #12 pick worth taking then is NT Dan Williams.
3rd Round - OLB is now a must. What could be available are Koa Misi (little chance), Jason Worilds (better chance) and Ricky Sapp (likely).
4th Round - will then need to be a TE or FS. For TE’s the following could be taken: Jimmy Graham, Dorin Dickerson or Dennis Pitta. If a FS it would be Major Wright. FS Wright would be my first choice. If not available, I would pick the TE’s in the order provided.
5th Round - if FS Wright is not selected then FS Robert Johnson. Otherwise, if Wright is selected, then a TE, probably Pitta. If not available then FS Myron Rolle or NT Jeff Owen.
As you can see, Scenario #1 has a major problem. We can’t address all the critical needs. The depth of the draft is also quite deep for NT, OLB, TE and FS. So the best situation is,
Scenario #2 – Trade the 1st Round 12th pick for another 1st Round pick between 18 and 26, and pick up a late second or early third round pick. If so, the picks could fall:
1st Round – OLB Brandon Graham (my personal favorite, but not likely since he isn’t the prototype player the Dolphins want), or more likely Jerry Hughes.
2nd /3rd Round – NT Cam Thomas, but if not available then Linval Joseph
3rd Round – FS Major Wright
4th Round – TE In order, Jimmy Graham, Dorin Dickerson or Dennis Pitta
5th Round - FS Robert Johnson if Wright isn't selected, alternatively FS Myron Rolle or NT Jeff Owen
In either Scenario for the remaining rounds:
6th Round – C Eric Olsen or Kenny Alfred
6th Round – NT Jeff Owen if still available (not likely), else ILB - Darryl Sharpton, Micah Johnson
6th Round - WR/PR Jeremy Williams, Brandon Banks, Antonio Brown, or Trindon Holliday
7th Round - OT Andrew Tyshovnytsky, Drew Davis, Dennis Landolt or Chris Marinelli
7th Round – FS/CB Myron Lewis, FS Da'Mon Cromartie-Smith or Jordan Lake
7th Round - Whatever is left over
