“I
am proud to be a supporter of the 1st Annual Senior Domino
Tournament. It is the goal of the partnering
cities of Fort Lauderdale, Lauderhill, North Lauderdale, Miramar, and
Lauderdale Lakes as the host City, to have Dominoes as a sanctioned event in
the Florida Senior Games. This is an
excellent event to showcase the broad popularity of dominoes in Florida, and
the mental skill required to compete,” said State Representative Hazelle
Rogers.
“With
competitors from all over South Florida, The Senior Domino Games will be a
great day of fun and competitive play. I
am excited to work with this group of individuals and the cities who are
dedicated to expanding the sport and create additional recreational activities
for seniors,” she said.
The
2014 Senior Domino Games are open to all players ages 50 and over. We have a
few open spots. The registration fee is
$20 per person. Participants will be
competing for a first place prize of $600.
Prize money cards will be awarded from 1st through 12th
place. The top four female players will
also receive a cash prize of $25 each.
“It
will be an exciting day for domino enthusiasts and anyone interested in playing
or even learning, the game. Also, if you are not ready to compete, plan to
attend as a spectator, you will not be disappointed,” said Ruddy Schaaffe, Tournament
Administrator.
