Lauderhill Police Report Update

On Tuesday evening, January 23, members of the Narcotics Unit made six drug arrests in different areas of the city. Three drug arrests were made in Mission Lake Plaza, two at Calypso Cay Apartments, and one at Jimmies Market in Broward Estates.

On Wednesday evening, January 23, the SWAT team executed a drug search warrant at 1864 NW 55th Ave. Apt. 1 in Windermire. Amy Hosey and Kenneth Weaver were arrested for possession of Cocaine, possession of Cannabis and drug paraphernalia. This location was one of the supplier locations for Mission Lake Plaza.

The graffiti pictures of the painted walls were sent to Sgt. Santiago and the county gang unit. A suspect has been developed who lives in the Northwest area of our city. An unmarked vehicle has been assigned to the midnight shift for surveillance. I have Lt. Cochran looking into a particular type of paint where spray paint rolls off. This paint has been used by some larger cities.

Our detectives have two bait cars set up for burglaries. These vehicles have been placed in front of residences in the Northwest part of our city with items left visible inside. Detectives watch the vehicles from a distance.

A Strategic Planning session was conducted by the Police Chief with all staff members on Jan. 25, to assess our needs for the next three to five years to include such things as technology, marketing, recruiting, and staffing.
