Update on Lauderhill

BUILDING DEPARTMENT:

One of the General Contractors on a phase of Stonebridge Gardens is waiting for the association to select the sub-contractors to proceed. As to Section 2, work is currently ongoing at the buildings 2800 through 2804. Crews completed rough HVAC in 17 units as of 10/6. Work will continue. 95% of the rough plumbing is in. Windows have been ordered for the 2800-02-04 buildings, and is expected in 3 to 4 weeks. Drywall and contact electric will be onsite to complete frame repair, begin fire walls in attics and begin the electric rough-in in these buildings.


CODE ENFORCEMENT:

64 Notices of Violations and 14 parking tickets were written for the week of 9/30 to 10/6.


COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY:

Demolition commenced on Mission Lake Plaza west building. Le Bon Berger has moved out of their space and the Arts Incubator is expanding into this space and the space on the other side of its current location.


FIRE DEPARTMENT:

During the week of 9/30 to 10/6, the department responded to 3 fires (average response time of 3:37), 182 EMS calls (average response time of 5:44), 3 hazardous conditions, 28 good intent calls, 12 false calls. There were 23 fire inspections, 23 building plans reviewed, 6 permit inspections, and a fire investigation on NW 28th Street. Public education given at Sadkin Center, Endeavor Primary Learning Center and Paul Turner Elementary. The Retirement Life Center was evacuated for 12 hours due to fire.


PALS:

Planning continued for the MLK Spelling Bee and Brain Bowl. A Youth Sports web site is being worked on. Coordination is being established on quarterly inspections on the shuttle buses. 6,225 were transported on the Lauderhill Shuttle for the week.
