Window Opens for Student Reassignment Applications for 2013/14 Offering Parents and Students More School Choices and Options

Broward County Public Schools has opened its student reassignment application window for the 2013/14 school year. Applications will be accepted beginning May 1 through June 15, 2013. This is an opportunity for parents or guardians to apply for a reassignment for their child to attend a school other than the school assigned to their home address, if space is available.

A list of available schools, along with an online application and information about the process are available on the District’s main website at (www.browardschools.com). Applications are also available at the Demographics & Student Assignment Office, located at 600 SE 3 Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.

Only applications for the 2013/14 school year will be accepted, and only one application per student. Transportation is not provided with a reassignment. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to the reassigned school.

This is not a first-come, first-serve application process. All applications received during the open window period will be processed after the June 15th deadline. Notifications regarding the status of reassignment applications will be mailed during the latter part of June.

For questions or additional information, contact the Demographics & Student Assignment Office, at 754-321-2480.
